Origins:
Witches are the descendents of
those dragons who guarded the gates, back when Earth was
called Eden.
|
Physiology: |
Witches are indistinguishable from normal human
beings, however, they do tend to appear younger than
other people their age. A witches' sole
inheritance from their dragon ancestors, is the
ability to manipulate the forces of the
Universe. Witches manipulate this energy by
channeling it in many different ways (discussed in
more detail in the sociology section). However,
based on the dragon line, all the witches of that
family are either male or female and are strongest in
a certain type of manipulation.
For the most part, dragon bloodlines are thinning,
however the progeny of two witches will be magically stronger
than either parent.
|
Sociology: |
Due to the relatively low number of true witches, the
stigmas surrounding magic and the difficulty in
determining whether or not someone is a true witch,
there is very little cohesion in the magical
community. Most of the few well-established magical
sects are either aligned with Heaven or Hell
(information on specific groups will come
later). Individual witches or covens will align
themselves with either side to amass more power, or to
back their chosen side. The witch does this by
calling a patron (either a demon or an angel), and
enacting a rite that binds them to that being.
Although all witches draw their power from the same
force, they learn to control that power based on their
magical background. Some of the most common
backgrounds are wiccan, voodoo, divine, and the many
branches of eastern magic. Their magical
background also indicates what the witches call
themselves, where they mistakenly believe their power
is derived and how they view their own abilities.
Because of this ritual/spell diversity, most witches
aren't even aware of the true origins of their power.

Affiliations: |
Hell, Heaven: |
Enemies or Allies
dependant on the witch's choice. |
Earth: |
-Animals/ Plants: |
Alliances
based on witch's preference, but there are
very few, considering the relatively low
number of witches who bother to talk to
them as equals. |
-Humans: |
N/A |
|
-Shape shifters: |
There
are no known alliances with the
shape-shifter clans. |
-Vampires: |
Vampires
are considered demonic, so only
those witches aligned with Hell
willingly associate with them (and
even then fairly rarely, since
vampires are known as unpredictable
and dangerous on the best of days) |

Extra: |
How magic works:
To properly manipulate any force of the Universe,
a ritual must be preformed. The ritual, which
can come in a wide variety of forms, must express
the intent of the ritual, based on the rules of that
school of magic. However, without the faith
that the ritual will work, the ritual itself is
useless. This is why many different versions
of the same ritual can produce similar
results. Although all schools of magic have
the capability of enacting any kind of manipulation,
some schools, based on the rules for that school,
are more effect at certain types of rituals. Eg:
voodoo is rich in the subtlety of curses, Native
American shamans make the best magical shape shifters,
and eastern magic users can focus their own energy
with amazing efficiency.
Examples of Types
of Manipulation : |
curses,
protection, healing, divination, evocation,
shape shifting, time manipulation, elemental |
Psychics:
Psychics are only partially a subdivision of
witches. There are two kinds of people
considered psychics:
Eden Gates : |
Also known as
Temporal Mages, these humans are true witches,
descendents of the dragon of Time.
Because of their ability to see through,
travel and manipulate Time (both past and
future), they are considered psychic.
There are very few temporal mages. |
Mediums: |
are not of the
dragon lineage, being purely human.
Mediums have been touched (or marked,
depending on how you look at it), by
God. Because of this, they have an
unstable window into Mohenjo-daro; the place
of the dead, and where Time sleeps. This
gives them a glimpse into possible futures and an ability to commune with the
dead. Most well-known psychics are
mediums. |
And that's the basics of Witches.
